You did an amazing job for your first game. I like that you can just roam and explore and that there's little pieces of lore throughout. My favorite thing about this game is the atmosphere. You don't get jump scared but with how quiet it is, you get a feeling that something just might. I like the little sounds that happens that kind of disturbs that quietness and they kind of made me jump a little bit. Overall this game is amazing and I can see why it's getting the support its getting. I had a lot of fun playing this and I can't wait to see what you make next. Keep up the good work.
Wow... Thank you so much for such kind words. I'm super excited you enjoyed the game and that it clicked with you. I'm looking forward to seeing your gameplay ! 🥳
The developer specifically asked for a SPOILER WARNING when uploading a video so consider this exactly that!
Really enjoyed the setting and atmosphere (I'm a sucker for winter horror games). The ending works really well given the aforementioned features. You kept me on edge the whole time and I look forward to your future projects! Keep it up! The game starts at 20:32
Wow - firstly, thank you for taking the time to play my game, I'm glad you enjoyed it!I appreciate your comments about the atmosphere and setting, it's always nice to hear it hit exactly how I wanted it to 😊
Haha damn! Thank you much for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the game! I guess we'll have to see what the town of Cold Pines has for the future 😉
I will never work in an isolated gas station during a blizzard again! Very eerie with great atmospheric pressure and tension. Hope to see more! See my playthrough here:
Played this on stream, really cool game, was not expecting the pivot. Great atmosphere and worldbuilding, you should continue this. Eager to see what else you're working on!
Who would've thought that taking care of a gas station meant walking into a world filled with a dread that walks along with you, like an old friend?
The DEV [given that this is his first ever game] surely has the talent to keep you [and thus me as well] glued to the screen, while you solve all the various puzzles this game throws at you.
It is this subtle mix of telling and progressing a story and the build-up of something dreadful out there waiting to lure you in, that becomes the most compelling part of being immersed in this game to begin with.
Want to find out why?
Just download and play the game yourself.
You will not be disappointed. You have my word for it :o]
I didn’t run into any bugs, hiccups or other snags. Kudos to all involved and thanks for making this awesome game.
Wow, just wow.. thank you for such a detailed comment, I'm really happy you enjoyed the game, and took the time to share your thoughts. - it's a real motivation to see someone get this invested in my game - so thank you kindly! 🥳🥳
My grandad told me, "Son, always be sure to give credit where credit's due!"
So, logically, I've got to give you credit for having achieved making this game [for starters], but even more so, for having made such a compelling game that made me really enjoy it.
I'm glad you enjoyed the game - but could you change your comments to avoid spoilers 🤣 I'd like new people to have a chance to play it without mayor spoilers. - same goes for the thumbnail 🙈
I hear you. I think I'll just add a spoiler mark. If that doesn't work, I'll delete my comment. I am quite proud of my thumbnail and I would hate to change it.
Wow, thank you so much for the kind words. I'm really happy you enjoyed the game, especially the atmosphere 🥳 looking forward to watching your playthrough.
Hi - Firstly, glad you enjoyed the game. Also thank you for the feedback, it is very much appreciated. I've taken note of a few things, and I'll be addressing it in a future update for the game. :D Once again, thanks for taking the time to play the game!
This was an awesome horror game my dude! Super entertaining and the slow burn buildup was great! I had no idea what was going to happen but it was a great pay off! I enjoyed this game and recommend completely! Here is my gameplay video, sub and help my channel grow everybody! :)
Very cool game! Really loved the wintery foggy vibe. The gameplay is solid and everything feels smooth to interact with. I did notice a few lag spikes here and there, not sure what caused them, they happen on major/unexpected events. On a second note, I would add a mouse sensitivity in settings.
No problem! Hopefully you can pinpoint the culprit. If it helps, it feels like the major events objects aren't loaded beforehand, so when the event hits, all the new objects and animations load at once. I assume that would cause a 'hiccup'; and since the screen freezes for a split second, the player basically misses the event (like a jumpscare). I feel like I've seen this behavior in other Godot games but I'm not sure how the engine works behind the scenes; still, there has to be a workaround.
That being said, your first released game is amazing and deserves the attention it's getting! Best of luck with your work ❤️
Wow - Great insight, thanks! I'll be sure to check it out and see if that might be the culprit ;) - Lastly, thank you for the kind words - Being my first game I really do appreciate it.
I'm glad you liked it! Thank you 🥳 well not everything in the game is designed to have a purpose, somethings are also to give the environment life and provide some small moments for the player to experience.
This was pretty damn fantastic! It took me a while to figure out a certain puzzle haha. I liked that it was more a build of the tension and I did feel creeped out! I had fun with this! Here is my video! PS Niven recommended me this one. :)
Wow thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the game, and happy you got a little scared too 🥳 also nice to be recommended! Also thank you for the rating 🥳
For the first ever project, this was truly impressive and meaty - solid horror! 4/5 Stars (For some reason ratings have been removed, so just FYI).
I genuinely liked this. I actually recommended this to many of my fellow YouTubers and they managed to record and put the posts earlier, so, apologies for the being late. Anyways - loved this. The atmosphere was really eerie, I liked the sound design, the final twist and story.
Although, some parts might have been confusing, for example where you had to put the boxes exactly and without proper observation people would miss out on that bolt cutter, but this is just nitpicking.
Overall - great experience. Best of luck with the future games!
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game. Also, thank you for the feedback, means a lot that you took the time, and recommended it to your fellow Youtubers! Also thank you for the rating. I'm not sure why the ratings have been removed? .. I'll have to look into that.
Congratulations to all the creators of this indie game, the game is very good, good graphics, good sounds,y history I give you 5 stars, I want all the creators of this game to subscribe to my YouTube channel please, thank you, I am very excited about your subscription and support, greetings from Spain
Thank you! Glad you like the game - I'll have to ask you to put a dislaimer on your comment or would you mind changing the thumbnail to something more neutral, like the main menu or early gameplay?
I’d love for new players to experience the surprise the way you did.
Short but not bad at all. Really solid story for sure and great use of the notes system. Really built this up to something sinister. Graphics were nice as well and the game performed fine. Overall, nice turnout. Made a video on it.
Cold Pines is an impressive first release from this dev. Instead of relying on jump scares, this brief indie experience builds a steady sense of being watched, as if something is always lurking just beyond sight, just outside your peripheral. Even the gas pumps managed to unsettle me, which says a lot.
The notes matter too, nothing is spelled out for you. It’s a strong start from a promising developer, and absolutely worth a look.
Thank you so much for the kind words and for playing! I really appreciate you taking the time to leave such thoughtful feedback. It means a lot, especially since this is my first release
Nice game! Had a couple of moments of genuine horror, which was great! I noticed a typo in one of the documents, I think it was in the shipping manifest in the barn, the date only had 3 digits in the year section. Congrats on your first complete game!

Thank you ! 🥳 And thanks again for playing my game.
I appreciate you for making this.
Can I ask? what did you use to make this game?
I've been really curious in creating my own little horror game :3
Of course 😁 I've used Godot as game engine. Audacity for audio editing, Photospea for texturing and editing 🥳 hope it helps - happy developing!
Good game 👍
Thank you so much! 🥳
Nice job, I definitely didn't expect the reveal! Very creepy, you have a solid handle on making horror. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much! 😁 Glad you liked the game, and that I got you with that ending 😉 very kind words on the horror aspect, I really appreciate that.
Wow, thank you so much for the kind words. I'm really happy you enjoyed the game, especially the atmosphere 🥳 looking forward to watching your playthrough.
really enjoyed the game, good work!
Here some Feedback:
1. There was no mouse movement adjustable in options, so it was very slow for me, but could be intiontial?
2. I got stuck in the shed between the wall and the tractor while running and had to restart.
3. It seems the small shed next to the gas station has no door or it is just very obscure?
4. Great vibe, sounds and minimalistic level design, just reduced to the core!
Hi - Firstly, glad you enjoyed the game. Also thank you for the feedback, it is very much appreciated. I've taken note of a few things, and I'll be addressing it in a future update for the game. :D Once again, thanks for taking the time to play the game!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! - Good catch on the typo, I'll be updating that.
Good to hear you had your moments of Horror 🥳
